Our plan for Aelon would be almost identical had COVID not occurred. People’s allergies don’t go away with a pandemic, so the need for an epinephrine holder has not changed. On the other hand, people aren’t leaving their homes so not as many people are wearing belts. As a result, we lowered our sales projections slightly to take this fashion shift into consideration.
The biggest change we would have potentially made is entering retail. Had we done this, we would have only entered Walgreens and displayed our AUVI-Q belts in the pharmacy section next to where the AUVI-Q auto-injectors are advertised.
Other than entering retail, our distribution plans are unaffected. Kickstarter is just as popular as it was before the pandemic, and people are using Amazon just as much if not more than before.
Upon a return to normalcy, we expect to receive an increase in sales since more people are leaving their homes and wearing belts. We might also reconsider our prior plans of selling at Walgreens but will probably decide against it in order to maintain our margins.
